The day turned out to be drenched in sunshine. Golfers from all over the island, and some from off the island took part in this fundraiser this year.

Sponsors turned up early this year to enjoy the delicious champagne breakfast provided by Sherri Hinch of Food Mechanix.

Then aftyer a short briefing the golfers took to the course to compete. The Sealegs delivered refreshments on the course throughout play. Sponsors dressed up their holes with interesting mini-competitions, with Wild on Waiheke offering archery and refreshments at their hole, and Bayleys providing their obligatory shot of Baileys on their par 3. The Rotary BBQ once again provided epic sustenance to keep everyone going until lunchtime.

And of course, the competition was hot at the Rothbury's hole-in-one hole, with that massive prize of a Sealegs craft up for grabs. Unfortunately no-one won the Sealegs on the day, however someone did purchase a Sealegs on the day.

After the game Tommy Pickett provided music while scores were tallied and unwitnessed great shots were recounted. Jeremy Elwood was our gracious MC for the prize-giving event, and David Palfreyman squeezed some additional funds from everyone during the live auction.

Once again the Waiheke Rotary received so much support from businesses and individuals across the island. It's getting more and more difficult to put on events that raise the funds that go back into our community, and we are always just blown away by the support of of individuals and businesses on this island who help make this happen.
